What Our Customers are Saying
“What a fun evening. There were four of us and we ordered a full rack of ribs and one lb of pulled pork. The ribs fell off the bones and the pork was so moist. The coleslaw was fresh and excellent, and the beans were spicy and a perfect side. Loved the touch of the peanuts at each table.” Jeannie W
“Our group of 8 walked in following a tour of stunning Antelope Canyon. We ordered the chicken, brisket and many of the sides. All of the meats were tender and perfectly smoky, the sauce had a savory vinegar kick to it and the sweet tea was authentically delicious. We finished off with the melt in your mouth apple cobbler topped with cinnamon brown sugar ice cream. Don’t miss it! Kathy couldn’t have been friendly or given better recommendations. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting this beautiful place!” Sandra C
“Great food. Great prices. Great customer service. I want to thank Pam, our waitress. She has many names but I like the “Yellow Rose from Texas.” It suits her. She was always friendly and smiling. She made us feel at home at Big John’s Texas BBQ. Pam recommended the baby back ribs which my bf ordered. I had the sampler…” Bailey
“Peanuts in the shell greet you as you sit down for a meal. Throw the shells on the “floor” if you are eating on the covered outdoor patio. According to my group of 4, the pulled chicken and pulled brisket sandwiches are mouth watering, and the cole slaw was crunchy and savory. If you can, save room for home-made peach…” Cabledoc
“We wandered into Page, Arizona recently for the Antelope Canyon slot canyons and Lake Powell, Rainbow Bridge, Horseshoe Bend, whew! There is a lot going on in this little corner of Arizona. The food scene, however, left much to be desired. We drove past this place several times and noticed the smokers out in front of what looked like an old gas station. Big John’s Texas Barbecue, 153 S Lake Powell Blvd, Page, AZ 86040, proved to be a delicious find! Both the beef brisket and the pork were smoky and tender and loaded with flavor. The barbecue sauce was exceptional and complimented the meat perfectly. A one-pound serving fed two of us and even provided leftovers. The coleslaw was a surprise too. It was really good, obviously fresh house-made. We were so impressed we got another order to go for the next days lunch on Lake Powell. The remodeled old gas station provided a cool, retro vibe to the place. We knew it would be great by this alone! Service was friendly and excellent. We were wisely counseled out of 2 orders of the meat as it would have been too much (how refreshing, this has only ever happened to us in Italy). The only mistake we made was going to the Mexican restaurant down the road for our next dinner which was horrible. I could have eaten at Big John’s every night as it was real food cooked with real care. Lavish Living
