What Our Customers are Saying
“If you are looking for a tasty BBQ, generous portions, and exceptional service, Big John’s Texas Barbecue in Page, Arizona is the place to eat.
Recommended by travellers from Australia, the menu did not disappoint. The smoked brisket, pulled beef nachos and coleslaw were easily shareable and very affordable.
The setting was relaxed, the service was quick, and the staff were friendly. Our waitress Vicki was personable and didn’t hesitate to stop for a chat, and we even met the pit master himself.”
“Recently relocated to area. Stopped in on a Friday night and were pleasantly surprised to hear a live band. We ordered the nachos and they were superb! Music was an added bonus and we enjoyed ourselves immensely.”
“This is our favorite place in Page. Love the smiling faces of the staff. The food is incredible. Some of the best BBQ we’ve had anywhere (sorry Texas state). The only thing I’d add to the menu is Mac and cheese. A must visit in Page! Especially if there is live music.”
“This place was so nice, we came here twice! The first time we had the sampler plate and baby back ribs. The second time we got a full pound of brisket and a full rack of ribs.
They had 3-4 local brews that were from a Grand Canyon brewery.
All kinds of authentic Texas signage and Knick knacks that really add to the vibe.
Don’t miss this BBQ spot!”
“Had the Sampler. Satisfied my barbecue cravings! The brisket was best today then the ribs followed by the pulled pork then the links. The beans were amazing too.”
Price: Totally Reasonable
Wait time: ok, you can’t get everything you want!
Oddly the pulled pork was my least favorite, and the sausage was my favorite! But everything was awesome! Servers were totally awesome. Coleslaw was fantastic (and I usually hate coleslaw, can I get your recipe?).
Only complaint is no one gave me a shoulder massage after I finished. 😉”
“We wandered into Page, Arizona recently for the Antelope Canyon slot canyons and Lake Powell, Rainbow Bridge, Horseshoe Bend, whew! There is a lot going on in this little corner of Arizona. The food scene, however, left much to be desired. We drove past this place several times and noticed the smokers out in front of what looked like an old gas station. Big John’s Texas Barbecue, 153 S Lake Powell Blvd, Page, AZ 86040, proved to be a delicious find! Both the beef brisket and the pork were smoky and tender and loaded with flavor. The barbecue sauce was exceptional and complimented the meat perfectly. A one-pound serving fed two of us and even provided leftovers. The coleslaw was a surprise too. It was really good, obviously fresh house-made. We were so impressed we got another order to go for the next days lunch on Lake Powell. The remodeled old gas station provided a cool, retro vibe to the place. We knew it would be great by this alone! Service was friendly and excellent. We were wisely counseled out of 2 orders of the meat as it would have been too much (how refreshing, this has only ever happened to us in Italy). The only mistake we made was going to the Mexican restaurant down the road for our next dinner which was horrible. I could have eaten at Big John’s every night as it was real food cooked with real care.
